Full-Time Account Manager

Job Description

Developing long-term relationships with the assigned client, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders.  Liaising between the client and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of business solutions according to the client’s needs. Overall responsibility for managing client’s processes.

Main responsibilities may include:

  1. Provides services to the Client, and other accounts as required, through the following activities:
  • Operating as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to the Client, providing further clarifications and explanations.
  • Assessing risk, advising the most suitable option for the client based on gathered documentation/information.
  • Conducting audits, analyzing documents provided by the client.
  • Acting on behalf of the client before the customs authorities.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Developing a trusted advisor relationship with the Client.
  • Ensuring the timely and successful delivery of requested solutions according to Client’s needs and objectives.
  • Communicating with clients, suppliers, and brokers both verbally and in writing.
  • Producing work product in accordance with capacity models and reporting ongoing metrics on a regular basis.
  • Advising the client on all trade related enquiries.
  • Assisting with high severity requests or issue escalations as needed.
  • Ensuring necessary information and documentation is requested and follow up is conducted on a timely basis.
  • Reviewing and updating desk procedures and ISO work instructions and providing suggestions for process improvements.
  1. Performing managerial tasks including but not limited to the following:
  • Establishing team and individual goals and priorities.
  • Allocating workload to direct reports.
  • Training direct reports regarding Customs laws and regulations, client desk procedures, STTAS procedures and policies.
  • Preparing, scheduling, and conducting employee performance appraisals; coaching and counselling individual team members if necessary.
  1. Coordinating, delegating and supervising special projects or assistance given to any other STTAS EU Team; collecting time tracking information and maintaining records.

Qualifications:

  1. Multi-national experienced is required, including working with people from other cultures where English is a second language.
  2. In-depth understanding of EU customs and business practices.
  3. Customs Broker License preferred.
  4. The ability to read and understand complex import/export rules and regulations and apply them to business process and operations.
  5. College degree (Master’s degree level preferred).
  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
  7. Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs.
  8. Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to details.
  9. Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  10. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).

  6. Must be forward-thinking and possess the ability to identify process improvements.
