Job Description
We are looking for a
Category Manager
in Consumer Goods Region East Europe, Hungary, Budapest location.
Purpose and Scope the Role
The Category Manager is responsible for Shopper Insight management with focus on providing accurate and timely information to support the business in making correct strategic and operational decisions. Based on insights across shopper, customer and consumer intelligence she/he is responsible for creating overall catogory management plans and activities and form category partnership with customers to influcence category growth ensuring SCA gets a disproportionate share.
- Geographical scope: Hungary
- Business diversity and complexity: Working for / supporting different functions within a BU. Responsible for Shopper Insight management and Category management related projects for all Consumer Goods categories of SCA Hungary: Consumer Tissue, Baby and Feminine Protecion.

Main Responsibilities
- Manage Shopper Data Intelligence, including continuous and ad-hoc researches and related budgets.
- Co-ordinate information sharing with others internally and externally, provide recommendation to develop and grow the business
- Works in conjunction with consumer and trade marketing to deliver a “best in class” GTM capability to ensure business/marketing initiatives (e.g. brand promotions, NPD launches) are brought to market in a timely and efficient manner
- Create plans and implement category vision and strategy
- Lead Category Mangement activities to win at the prioritized customers
- Define merchandising and assortment plan by category and channel
- Activate Shopper Insights and provide recommendations to manage customers and improve business performance based on category customer insights
- Contribute to best practice sharing, respective networks and projects
Requirements
- University or college degree in Economics / Marketing
- Fluent in Hungarian and English both written and spoken
- Min. 3-5 years commercial experience, preferably in Trade Marketing, Category Management, Market Research or in other business analyst function gained in FMCG. Experience in working with or at any FMCG Retailer is an advantage.
- Demonstrable record of success in a customer facing role in an advantage
- Solid computer skills (MS Office), advanced in Excel
- Experience in MR data management (Nielsen, Dunnhumby) is and advantage
- Strong analytical skills and finanical awareness
- Strategic thinking
