Full-Time Content Delivery Infrastructure Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for a Content Delivery Infrastructure Engineer to our Budapest office.
In this role, you will develop, maintain and advance Ustream’s enterprise CDN product. This role plays a key part in architectural planning, product development and operation.

- You have at least 5 years of a combination of software development, physical/virtual infrastructure management and network management experience
- You possess a DevOps mindset: you feel responsible for both development and operation
- You have extensive experience in content delivery architecture and methods
- You have worked with DNS, servers, proxies and configuration
- You have strong experience and understanding of HTTP 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, web servers, cache and proxy servers, hierarchies and configurations
- You have deep understanding of network protocols from layer 3 to layer 7 and encapsulation methods
- You are experienced with Python, PHP and bash
- You keep yourself up-to-date and improve yourself continuously
- You are able to work on your own, make decisions and provide reasons for them
- You are a good communicator
- You are social and a team player
- You are good at learning new tools and languages and able to include them in existing systems
The more these apply to you, the better:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent training, education and experience
- You have deep understanding of automation tools, processes and best practices in large-scale deployment environments
- You are experienced in continuous development and product delivery
- You have experience in managing large-scale virtualized infrastructure
- You supported heterogeneous production systems and operation environments
- You have worked with configuration management systems (Chef, Puppet, etc.)
- You are familiar with revision control systems such as Git or Subversion
- You have worked with some kind of an agile methodology, like Scrum, Kanban, or XP

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Ustream’s enterprise CDN product
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
- Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Design and develop tests, test suites, and debugging tools
- Use monitoring tools to find problems, resolve and/or escalate the issues
- Build and manage development and testing environments
- Support application deployments, building new systems and upgrading and patching existing ones through DevOps methodologies.
