Full-Time Development Owner, AppGuru (Director of Engineering)

LogMeIn is looking for a highly motivated Director of Engineering to lead development for an exciting new product called AppGuru. The world of cloud apps is exploding and companies are in dire need of tools for managing the new reality of a SaaS focused world. AppGuru is aimed at providing IT professionals with centralized tools for managing cloud apps across their organizations. This product is poised for rapid growth and LogMeIn is looking for a proven Engineering Leader to drive execution of the software development team. The “Development Owner” role is responsible for delivering world-class technology working closely with the Product Owner and Business Owner, and is viewed as a key leader within the AppGuru product team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifies, implements, and delivers technical solutions to answer business and product requirements
- Ensures technical solutions and architecture are scalable, secure and high quality
- Manages and grows a high performing agile development team
- Responsible for development scoping and story/epic estimation with the team
- Drives successful sprint execution
- Manages cross-product dependencies
- Guides architectural decisions to create fast, scalable, high quality code
- Understands technology trends to apply to software design
- Champions Agile within the team
- Ensures and participates in effective code reviews and advises on technical decisions as required
- Liaises with the Core Engineering team on common services to leverage
- Implements and ensures Test Driven Development practices
- Oversees individual and team performance, including goal setting, performance reviews, hiring/retaining, and career path development
- Works to build a collaborative and supportive environment for the engineering teams
- Manages the engineering teams
Requirements:
- .NET
- Javascript
- MVC
- MS SQL
- AppFabric
- Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Deep knowledge and experience with Agile and Scrum
- SaaS software development experience
- Successful track record of improving R&D processes and driving technical initiatives.
- Strong leadership and passion to build something great
- Written and spoken English language proficiency
- 5-10 years of development management experience
