Full-Time English Proofreader
Job Description
Translation agency seeks an enthusiastic person to join our young and dynamic English-speaking team in our Budapest office. You will be responsible for a variety of linguistic tasks, such as proofreading and quality assurance control for translated texts in English.
Experience in proofreading or translation is an advantage; proficiency in another European language is a must.
This position is suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with 1-5 years of work experience.
EU/Non-EU applicants in and outside of Hungary may apply (if willing to relocate to Budapest).
Main tasks:
– Proofreading English texts (general, medical, technical, etc.)
– Checking translation quality with quality assurance tools
– Post-translation and miscellaneous linguistic tasks (editing, layout check, entering client corrections, etc.)
Required qualifications:
– University degree (degree in linguistics is an advantage)
-Passion for languages and translation industry
-Confident writing and IT skills (standard Office software)
-Strong desire to learn continuously and grow professionally
Desired background:
– Native English speaker
– Knowledge of second Western European language, such as German, French or Spanish
– Attentive to details and accuracy
– Ability to work independently and effectively and as a member of a team
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
