Full-Time Head of Product
Job Description
As the Head of the Product, you will have the opportunity to shape Ustream’s innovative platform by working closely with the engineering and executive management teams. Leading a team of approximately 7 Product Managers/Owners, you will help to drive and implement the product strategy. This is a key position accelerating the growth of Ustream’s Saas platform which allows Enterprises use the power of live online video to drive growth and brand awareness.
You bring strong product oriented thinking combined with first-rate communication, analytical and leadership skills. You have significant experience in web platform development, ideally from a streaming media related company.
Ustream’s development team is based in Budapest, Hungary while the executive team and sales and marketing function are located in our San Francisco, USA office. This role reports to the VP of Marketing in San Francisco, and requires an individual who is willing to be based in Budapest and is willing to spend upwards of 25% of their time in San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and manage the product roadmap, ensuring the product team based in Hungary accurately translates the corporate strategy into products, features and experiences that drive the Saas business growth
- Set and manage expectations for the direction and pace of this evolution with all relevant stakeholders including the senior leadership team based in San Francisco
- Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may prevent optimal execution
- Lead directly and by influence a world-class combination of product managers, engineers, QA, UX designers. Work closely with other partner stakeholders (marketing, merchandising, legal, finance) – providing guidance and direction to achieve the product vision

- Understanding of Agile development, web and mobile applications, software-as-a-service design, familiarity with analytical tools and models

Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years experience in product related positions with a pattern of increasing responsibility.
- 5+ years of experience in mass market consumer focused e-commerce / software / wireless / software product management.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
- Experience leading teams both directly and by influence
- BA/BS required (preferably in a computer science related discipline)
