International Forwarder (Kiev/Budapest, fulltime)
The International Forwarder is responsible for controlling the collection and delivery of goods on behalf of all customers and to meet and exceed service levels as set by the customers.
The International Forwarder is also responsible for ensuring that both individual volume and value targets as set are achieved and that the profitability of all contracts is maximised. Also the International Forwarder will participate in the elaboration of tenders and price inquiries and setting up and maintaining the haulier database.
Your key responsibilities:
- Inputting booking information on the corporate IT databases in a timely, accurate and correct manner, and safeguarding that this is kept up to date throughout the course of the day. To this end ensuring that operational difficulties are being pursued on behalf of the customer and also taking necessary actions when the required company standards are not being met
- Providing an efficient and cost effective collection and delivery service by properly using group and subcontracted resources
- Supplying sufficient haulage to ensure that service standards are met
- Liaising closely with the haulier to ensure that they have full and accurate information
- Dealing with and resolving all queries relating to incidents e.g. refused loads or damages
- Being available at all times to deal with any queries or service issues and to identify any potential new business opportunities
- Ensuring all statutory requirements are met. Specifically relating to hazardous loads and documentation
- Managing key accounts as requested ensuring close relationships to the mutual benefit of both company and customer
- Analyzing transport orders by high profile customers and suggesting further development of important accounts
Required Skills, knowledge and experience:
- Chartering and forwarding skills
- Extensive knowledge of the home market of International Road Transport, prices and purchase rates
- Good knowledge of and contact with the haulage industry
- Good customer service skills
- Experienced in standard software applications
- Good command of English and preferably another European language
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar job
