Job Description

Why Join Us?
Over 1,000 payrolls are processed each month at SafeGuard World International (SGWI) on behalf of our highly valued clients. As an International Payroll Specialist you will be working in our Global Managed Payroll division, servicing multiple clients. We do things a little differently here – due to the international nature of our business you will be managing the payroll process working in partnership with our in-country providers (ICP) who provide local expertise in terms of country legislation, taxes etc. Clients are our number one priority so you will be providing a top class stellar service at all times.
As an International Payroll Specialist a typical day might include the following:

  • Pick up any urgent client queries or requests from our ticketing system, and liaise with ICP if necessary
  • Check your run list to see what needs to be delivered that day
  • Follow up and resolve with the client or ICP any delays, queries/concerns.
  • Prepare the payroll input for ICP by running a Changes Export Report and then validate against the original client input
  • Validate the payroll processed by the ICP, run payroll report
  • Maintaining/updating documents with new updates for all or any specific client.
  • Post payslips on the Employee Portal for the employees
  • Liaise with your Team Leader about any outstanding items for the day, any issues, help needed etc.

This job might be for you if:

You love helping clients. You get a kick out of getting people to those aha! moments. You are patient, level-headed, and cool under pressure.
You pay attention to the details. As far as you’re concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing right, on time, every single time. You stay focused, and nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
You communicate clearly. You write well. You can explain just about anything to anyone, and you’re comfortable communicating in writing and on the phone.
You think on your feet. You like learning new things, and you learn quickly.
You enjoy solving problems. You love taking on difficult challenges and you don’t get flustered easily. If you don’t know the answer you’ll dig until you find it.
Multi-tasking comes naturally; you are able to spin lots of plates without losing focus (or breaking plates)
You consider a deadline to be a challenge and you rise to that challenge; your time management skills are first class.

You’ll hit the ground running if:
You either have experience in Payroll OR we would also consider people with other backgrounds such as finance, accounting, analytical, auditing particularly if you have a strong client focus or some customer service and –  or eg IT help desk experience. Those backgrounds have useful transferable skills, the rest we can train! (Not necessary  previous payroll experience required)
It is also important that you have good Excel skills – by good we mean that you would ideally know how to set up conditional formatting, v-lookups, perform reconciliations, etc.
We’re an international organisation, however our business language is English; therefore you will need to be fluent.  Since much of our communication is via email, your written skills need to be strong to be really effective in your role.
Why you’d enjoy working here:
We would describe the SGWI culture as hard working, fun, entrepreneurial, and driven by a passion for customer excellence. We take training and development seriously here with our own”SafeGuard University” and there is a huge opportunity for personal career growth within payroll/HR outsourcing or our support functions.
Spring boarding off the success of our business internationally, 2015 saw us set up a new office in Budapest. We are growing at a fast pace and this growth is set to continue.
What does this mean to you?  An opportunity to be part of an exciting journey where you can make real impact. You’re not just a number here.  We expect you to contribute your ideas, experience, and creativity to contribute to our success.  In return you will get the recognition you deserve!  And the in-office growth means that we won’t delay in promoting those with potential.
