    rimary Teacher
    Dear Sir / Madam
    Outstanding! That is me.
I would like to apply for the post outlined below. I have attached my CV including photograph. I am working in a two large Primary schools in Hungary at he moment where in addition to teaching English I am proofreading all English related submissions from staff to the school website and magazine as well as coordinating the content and development of ‘glogs’ to the English Magazine.
Prior to my present teaching post at two Hungarian Primary/Middle Schools in Hungary I was the Head of the Humanities Faculty, which included IGCSE Geography and both IGCSE and Advanced History with 8 departments and 14 staff, with 350 children, for two years. Other departments included Business Studies, Economics both at Advanced and IGCSE levels, Art to IGCSE, Music and Drama. I was also the Line manager for Mathematics and Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme Coordinator and leader with 42 year 10 candidates and a team of 8 staff. I did teach IGCSE Geography and History in Serbia and qualified as a UK Sat’s assessor for Primary English and Science.
I was the Director and the head teacher at the French International School, in Kaduna, Nigeria, with 20 staff. There I not only ran the school of 100 pupils but also taught English to each class and conducted teacher training programs on a weekly basis to improve the teaching by the local staff. I held monthly faculty staff meetings where I would organise staff training to integrate and improve the performance of each teacher. In both schools I monitored staff performance regularly to note improvements and areas of development.
Now I am teaching in Europe at two Primary/Middle schools. My present residence is in Hungary where I have a second home, my first being in the UK.
I trained to be a teacher in the UK and qualified in 1974, from the Victoria University of Manchester. I have a wealth of experience across all levels of teaching and in several countries, including Serbia, Nigeria and Switzerland, as can be seen in my attached CV. I am fluent in the German language but teach in English Language and Literature and have knowledge of Russian / French / Italian / Serbian / Hungarian.
I have taught in schools with IB and Cambridge Examinations, and have used the same system in other schools when appropriate and where the students could cope with the method. My career also includes a long spell in the British Police Force where I was a fully qualified Police Officer and a trainer of other officers from civilians to Superintendents.

    Letter of application.
How can I make a difference?
Teaching, organising and motivating adults and children by example and instruction. A variety of subjects very well and have experience and knowledge to pass on to colleagues that will positively develop their teaching techniques.
English, Mathematics, Sciences and ICT are the core of a great school. They are the key that unlocks the potential to move on and up to University. These essential subjects need to have the necessary teachers of excellent quality; equipment and resources to best serve the students and provide them the opportunities to be successful.
At BIS I was a line manager for Mathematics and advising English Language and Literature teachers. I worked closely with the ICT department and use ICT regularly in my lessons of Geography and History. Motivation and improvement of the Art department at IGCSE examination level and throughout the lower school.
Improving the Drama and Music departments and organisingschool productions which focused on the students’ performances and was appreciated by the parents’ attendances. Using the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme candidates’ extra-curricular activities at assemblies to promote BIS through voluntary service outside the school, with supporting the Lekki Motherless Babies Home.
Improving the performance of the teaching staff through monitoring, mentoring, cross-curricular involvement, feedback and feed-forward techniques, to benefit a faculty and improve awareness of their own and other subject areas. Develop performance management used to identify the potentials of staff for promotion and development and partner monitoring and support. I have considerable experience in ICT from my time in the WY police. In the Command and Control unit which involved using computer screens on four levels for:
    a) Location and deployment of officers on active operations,
    b) Identification of property 8 lost, found and stolen
    c) Communication between officers and other stations and Police Forces
    d) Internal information indexes to cross reference details of crime and damage/
Further computers used in the HOLMES unit for serious crime solving.
Breathalyser computers both hand held and in the custody office.
Custody office records for identification of prisoners stay.
Interview recording at interviews. Using ICT in the Research and Development department in the Police Force to improve work processes in policing.
I have taken courses in CLAIT training using Word, Power point and Excel and computer programming.
I use ICT in preparing lessons and frequently access the internet for research of information.
I instigated the use of ICT in the French International School in Kaduna to improve lesson planning, preparation and performance.
Organising School Marketing Fairs to present the school in its best light. Using the Head and some members of staff with the children to demonstrate and communicate to potential parents is important and essential if the numbers are to be increased. Parents want to speak to staff, other than the Head and the students. Showing them the classrooms and facilities are good ideas for the website and in the school handbook but prospective and aware parents want to know where their money is well spent. Asking the working staff and current students gives them an insight into the running of the school and the quality of the teaching.
I allow children to promote those skills that they possess to improve the potentials inherent in all students. Using Virtual Learning Environments, I bring topics to life and provide a more realistic classroom based learning format. I make education three dimensional and not just a learning process but a life changing experience which has a meaning and a personal enrichment. I share, with the students and staff, my passion for everything Humanitarian. So they can appreciate and have a greater understanding of everything the world represents.

Having worked as a Police Constable for twenty years I have a broad experience range behind me on which to draw reason and decisions. I am adaptable and flexible in my approach to children knowing that their welfare comes first and they are the centres of the educational system. I always encourage every child to take part in my lessons at some level to improve their understanding of the subject, the world around them and their interaction with others.   As the head of Physical Education I planned swimming galas for the whole school and sports days, for athletics and sports clubs for Soccer, Cricket and Basketball tournaments. This also entailed organising other staff members and colleagues during the events, including the travel arrangements for schools trips both locally and more involved excursions abroad.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme had been a school option in the past but had been abandoned due to the lack of staff interested in its promotion as it required commitment and planning to coordinate the staff and children each week. I managed to resurrect the project and encourage enough staff to participate so that we could have a cohort of 40 year 10 students actively engaged in voluntary work at the local orphanage and in outdoor skills such as camping. The enthusiasm was maintained to the point that year 11 and 12 students wanted to join.
