Role Summary/Purpose: As a Lead VAT Analyst, you’ll play an integral part within GE’s Global Operations Center in Budapest, Hungary. Supporting GE’s affiliates across 31 countries in Europe, this role provides legal, regulatory and tax compliance for multiple GE entities and focuses particularly on VAT analyses and preparation.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Being a stakeholder of the migration of the VAT process from Business to Global Ops Finance (VAT Preparation and/or VAT Review)
  • Support the migration of VAT preparation processes from the business to Global Operations Center, agreeing and monitoring the migration plans to ensure GE meet the necessary VAT processes
  • Ensure that VAT and associated returns are correct, identify potential errors and propose corrective action
  • Liaise with the Corporate VAT team to ensure compliance with local regulations
  • Provide training to improve VAT process together with the Corporate VAT team
  • Provide training of all users on the GE in-house VAT Reporting Tool
  • Coordination of VAT review process
  • Support VAT internal and external audits
  • Liaise with local experts to ensure compliance with local regulations
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Ideally a University or college degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Written and verbal fluency in English, ideally with additional European language
  • Proven experience of VAT, preferably in multinational environment
  • Excellent communication – proven ability to develop strong professional relationship with auditors, corporate tax and corporate VAT
  • Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to technically discuss with local/regional business controllers, country Statutory & Tax leader, local Corporate VAT Leaders and external auditors where necessary
  • Results orientated and ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Flexible approach and self-motivated with strong team spirit
