Job Description: Lean Manager (Hungary)

General

Responsible for continuously driving a culture of operational excellence across the Hungarian region. Utilising Lean expertise to drive performance improvement across multiple sites. Coaching and enabling waste removal activities using lean approaches and tools and guiding actions to a sustainable conclusion. This role will be based over four sites; 1 in Budapest, two sites in Zalaegerszeg and a further site in Sarvar. You can primarlly be based in the plant closest to your home spending additional days per week in the remaining plants.

 

Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute strategic plans for Lean organization to maximize its value add, to exceed operational goals and to create a competitive advantage in the business.
  • Take aggressive action to drive financial performance in the areas of productivity, purchase price, and facility variances.
  • Develop and execute a Lean strategy that supports the site’s overall market driven business model in line with the GBE A3.
  • Drive continuous improvement culture while implementing the strategic roadmap to achieve breakthrough performance in working capital, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.
  • Meet with Executive Leadership periodically to review and evaluate KOI’s.
  • Partner with other leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives.
  • Conduct Lean Operation/Supply Chain/Office training
  • Lean Supply Chain, Operation & Office – LMT Scoring and tracker, mentor, review and approval Deploy activities to close the gaps identified in line with the GBE A3.
  • Best Practice (BP) identification and yokoten.
  • Lead Facilitator Kaizen project IKW and EKW, provide Kaizen application expertise at the Gemba.
  • Coach, share and ensure usage of lean tools
  • Challenge, encourage, motivate & drive the team toward achieving the goals
  • Educate, train and align the team towards the Kaizen Workshop goals
  • Special projects/segment/customer priorities to formulate and propose strategy of Lean Transformation.
  • Coach and facilitate Lean Transformation activities through Kaizen workshops and Small Group Activities.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in Lean
  • Previous involvement in Electronic Manufacturing Sector (EMS)
  • Demonstrable ability to improve operational performance and in turn financial results
  • Experience of working across different sites
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels within an organisation
  • Team-leader/builder – at all levels – can get the best out of their extended team – sees employees as an asset – inclusive style that promotes employee engagement
  • Ability to identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems
  • Able to utilize tools to monitor cost and cost trends, continuously striving to improve value
  • Degree qualified in an Engineering or Business focused discipline
  • Can think strategically, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Comfortable in generating and implementing annual and longer term strategic plans
