Role Summary/Purpose
The Manager will work with the team to create state-of-the-art data and analytics driven solutions, developing and deploying cutting edge scalable algorithms, working across GE to drive business analytics to a new level of predictive analytics while leveraging big data tools and technologies.

 

Essential Responsibilities
The Manager, Data and Analytics, will provide data-driven answers to complex strategic enterprise challenges. The scope of such challenges may span every business line and every geographic location within GE. This role will perform analysis and synthesis along the insight generation continuum, from strategy formation through presentation. In addition, the Manager will participate in continuous process improvement activities, help in managing projects, and execute ad-hoc requests from senior leadership. Be proactive to translating a complex strategic challenge into relevant analytic frameworks. Create and deliver executive level presentations. Daily work will involve leading teams performing the following activities:

  • Gathering, cleaning, structuring and fusing existing data
  • Formulating hypotheses for testing and designing experiments to capture new data
  • Applying appropriate analytic tools, building algorithms and methodologies
  • Distilling and presenting analytic results to a non-technical audience
Qualifications/Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis, business development or corporate strategy with heavy emphasis on data-driven decision making is required.
  • A rigorous understanding of the fundamentals of statistics applied to business challenges and enterprise analytics is required
  • 2+ years of experience in people management is required
  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Applied Economics, Statistics or other technical field.
  • Quantitative-oriented MBA desired.
  • Familiarity with decision techniques including optimization, simulation, regression, decision trees, neural networks, cluster analysis, mixed models using big data technologies is required.
  • Proven leadership skills to provide guidance to data engineers and analysts with technical expertise, domain knowledge, business experience and statistical/ modeling techniques, focused on the big data space

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and negotiation skills is desired.
