We invite you to be part of a truly global team. GE’s Global Operations Center in Budapest, Hungary provides accounting services to over 800 legal entities operated by GE affiliates across 31 countries in Europe.   As a Lead Accountant you will be responsible for monitoring and managing complex accounting activities. You will be a Subject Matter Expert in accounting projects and especially migrations. You will provide support to more junior team members by clarifying accounting requirements, mitigating risks, and supporting customers on system changes. Additionally, this will include:-  Manage, monthly, quarterly and annual close processes of the corporate legal entities Co-ordinate simplification and standardization activities Generate complex financial reports, according to US GAAP standards Ensure implementation and the understanding of the financial policies and procedures in compliance with local legislation and company policy Leading and implementing process improvements Ensure compliance to finance standards and practices

What we are looking for in a Lead Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business related field
• Proficiency in the English language together with a second European language which is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience of multi-GAAP accounting
• Capable of forging strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues and work effectively with others
• Highly organised with demonstrated ability to meet commitments within strict deadlines
• Embrace change in response to new information and in different or unexpected circumstances
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum computer Literacy: MS Office, particularly Excel.
