Full-Time Research Associate I, Health Economics, Modeling and Simulation
Job Description
Our Modeling and Simulation experts design, build and implement models that describe complex medical processes and therapies to:
- Understand and evaluate the implications of clinical trials
- Demonstrate the value of an intervention beyond its efficacy
- Assess benefits and risks associated with healthcare interventions
- Assess pricing scenarios
- Inform strategic planning and product development
With more than 25 years of modeling experience, the health economics team has developed more than 200 economic models across multiple therapeutic areas and countries.
Role
We are looking for a Research Associate I to join our Modeling and Simulation team within the Health Economics department. You will provide scientific support to projects and begin to implement some tasks without supervision. This will involve working on multiple projects with tasks varying to degree by project.
Responsibilities
- Perform (under supervision for some tasks)
- Literature searches
- Internet searches
- Data extraction (epidemiological data, clinical data)
- Model programming (larger parts of models)
- Conduct basic statistical or other analyses under supervision
- Draft sections of project deliverables (reports, dossiers, protocols, spreadsheets, etc) and participate in abstract and manuscript preparation.
- Help monitor timelines and deliverables under supervision.
- Support other “non-billable” activities as needed (e.g. drafting sections of proposals; informal mentoring of research assistants).
Requirements
- Masters or Bachelors with some relevant experience
- Basic understanding of research methods and practical knowledge of research implementation
- Knowledge of fundamentals of pharmacoeconomics, epidemiology or literature review principles desirable
- Competent in written and spoken English
- MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
