Senior Research Associate – Modeling and Simulation (Budapest, Hungary)

Our multidisciplinary Modeling and Simulation experts design and implement health economic models that describe complex medical processes to understand and evaluate the implications of clinical trials; demonstrate the value of interventions beyond efficacy, and assess benefits, risks, and the economic consequences associated with healthcare interventions. If you have a passion for health economic modeling to conduct cost-effectiveness analyses of healthcare interventions and have experience conceptualizing and implementing simulation models (e.g., discrete event simulation) and other decision-analytic models (e.g., decision trees, Markov, individual state transition, survival partition), research and analytics, a position in Modeling and Simulation could be waiting for you!


Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Research Associate for our Modeling and Simulation team in our Budapest office. As Principal Investigator, you will have final budget, deliverable and project timeline responsibility as well as identifying scope expansion and need for amendments.

You will also:

  • Be the scientifically responsible person for the design and implementation of selected health economic studies or models; conceptualize advanced model design and advanced study protocols and statistical analysis plans
  • Be the scientifically responsible person with senior scientific “guidance/consultation” on selected studies or models; prepare “final quality” analysis plans and study protocols; conceptualize model design
  • Draft project deliverables (reports, dossiers, protocols, spreadsheets, etc…) at “final quality” level with minimal to no senior review, and draft abstracts and manuscripts as lead or co-author
  • As Principal Investigator, have final budget, deliverable and project timeline responsibility; identify scope expansion and need for amendments
  • Support other “non-billable” activities as needed (e.g. draft and approve proposals; lead methodological advancements, supervise junior staff; closely collaborate with other business units; lead some efforts as company representative)


Skills and Experience

  • Solid understanding of health economic research principles and familiarity with key aspects of the literature (historical and current)
  • Demonstrated experience in design and implementation of cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses using mathematical modeling
  • Experience in the conduct of systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, and database analyses
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, senior managers and clients
  • Strong analytical/statistical skills



  • PhD with some related experience; or
  • Masters with solid related experience; or
  • Bachelors with extensive relevant experience
