Full-Time Technology Program Manager
Job Description
Role Summary/Purpose:
GE is looking to harness its data to drive productivity outcomes across the Enterprise, similar to the outcomes GE drives for its customers leveraging Industrial big data. A team is being assembled to lead this charge across GE.
Essential Responsibilities:
- The Program Manager will be dedicated to one of the major initiatives – Sourcing or Brilliant Factory, with responsibilities not limited to
Leading and assisting the DaaS team members to implement iterative releases, and ensuring the teams adhere to scrum methodologies and processes. - Capture and document all technical requirements in alignment with functional requirements, by coordinating with business users and functional analysts.
- Define and document metadata, responsible for maintaining the integrity and completeness of the metadata repository.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Advanced degrees preferred
- Experience managing large, complex and multi-generational data projects
- Familiar with consumption platforms and technologies like Tableau, Predix, Hive, Greenplum, SAS, and other data discovery and analytics tools
- In depth knowledge of Big Data storage technologies (Pivotal, HBase, Greenplum, Hive)
- Experience with data integration technologies like Sqoop, Talend, and real time replication tools
- Dev ops philosophies to accelerate product deployment without compromising support SLAs and quality
- Effective at managing risk and uncertainty in an ever shifting technology landscape
- Ability to balance speed and risk taking
