Job Description
This is a remote, home-based position.
Scopic Software (www.scopicsoftware.com) is seeking intelligent, hard-working, passionate Middle PHP Developer with experience in performance / stress / regression testing that wants to do interesting work. Scopic Software is US-based company with employees in more than 10 different countries. The company develops graphics, multimedia and image processing/analysis software for the desktop, web and mobile platforms. Engineers work from the comfort of their home using a PC and internet connection. Projects can be short or long. Project team sizes range from 1 to 10 people, including QA and a project manager. Web-based project management, source code control and bug tracking software help to manage the development process. Work is interesting and challenging.
Skills required:
- Good English reading and writing skills.
- Good backend programming skills:
- PHP, experience with PHP frameworks (especially Yii).
- SQL Databases (MySQL).
- Good skills with Linux.
- An ability to work with large code bases
- Experience with performance analysis (identifying bottlenecks)
- Experience with performance and stress testing
- Experience with regression testing (e.g. Selenium)
- Experience with unit testing
- Dedication and discipline to work remotely from home.
Skills preferred (optional):
- Fronted programming skills: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, including Javascript frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, Backbone.js, knockoutjs, node.js)
- Experience with Amazon Services
The first long-term project would be to analyze existing large system, come up with a plan for regression, performance and stress testing, implement the tests and suggest / implement corresponding improvements.
This is a part-time or full-time position.
Hourly rate range 9$-15$/hour depends on experience.
