Full-Time Statutory and Tax Accountant
Job Description
As a Statutory and Tax accountant at GE, you will be an integral part of our Global Operations Centre in Budapest, providing accounting services to over 800 legal entities operated by GE affiliates across 31 countries in Europe. Working closely with local/regional business controllerships and local corporate tax teams, you will be responsible for:-
- Statutory accounting from filing planning to statistical reporting and preparing tax returns
- Accounting for local GAAP adjustments
- Preparation of Statutory packages for local and regional business controllers
- Influencing operational improvements to statutory accounting and preparation processes
- Preparing the corporate Income Tax and other tax returns
- Contributing to Tax and Statutory restructuring to support local tax audit requests
- Supporting business controllers with data requests and analysis
- Submission of national bank and statistical office reporting
- Participating in migration projects
Desired Skills and Experience
- Written and verbal fluency in English and German
- Understanding of differences between US GAAP/IFRS and Austrian GAAP
- Ideally experience within an audit firm
- Proven statutory accounting experience in a multi-Gap environment
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to deliver against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics
- Compliance and controllership mind-set
- Knowledge of Oracle, SAP and BMD
