Full-Time Big Data Engineer

In this role you will be part of a team of high caliber data engineers to build data pipelines, compliance/regulatory models, investment transaction surveillance models, financial crime surveillance models & fraud detectors, electronic communication surveillance models using big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hive/Hadoop, and distributed query engines. The position will be ideal for an individual interested in the field of big-data infrastructure, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization solutions.
Big Data Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong English language communication skills; ready to face off with finance and business subject matter experts on challenging problems
- Work with truly cutting edge ideas and technology: learn and apply the latest in systems research to solving very large scale problems.
- Keep up to date with big data technologies, evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products to design the data architecture
- Programming, adhering to standards and best practices
- Unit and peer testing of software code
- Problem investigation, code analysis, debugging and resolution
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline
- Superior academic record and leadership qualities
- 2+ years of experience in modern web development, e.g., Angular, React, Ember
- Experience with Javascript, HTML5 and CSS3
- Must know and be able to apply design patterns across technologies
- Good programming skills in Java
- Good knowledge of working with Databases and Hibernate
- Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
