This role is responsible for supporting procurement activities including multiple high value/risk commodities, critical technology and complex parts or sub assemblies. Responsibilities include taking a leadership role with IBM’s worldwide procurement team, as well as interfacing with suppliers on issues that affect supplier operations and IBM strategic supply issues. Responsibilities are: – Purchasing parts on spot market according to Planning input from pre-defined suppliers (RFQ –> supplier selection –> place purchase orders). – Alternative sourcing – broker buy support for Central Function. – Interaction with suppliers about specifications, delivery issues and other queries. – Order tracking from supplier until warehouse. – Past due order handling. – Invoice handling: check and register invoices. – Repair order handling: send defective parts for repair to pre-defined suppliers according to system advices and/or manual input. – System update of received repair cases for repair supplier. – Receipt Acknowledgement Report (RAR) handling..
