    AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Language Skills: Turkish, English, German, Spanish, Dutch and Kurdish.

I have been involved for a number of years in the southeastern city of Mardin, Turkey, which has seen a strong rise in tourism since achieving status as a tentative listing as a Unesco World Heritage site. Today, the city is completing a major restoration effort in the Old City area to protect and preserve its impressive historic and cultural qualities, and has numerous lovely hotels to accommodate guests.

In addition to arranging accommodations and tours in Mardin, I work with itineraries ranging from one to two weeks, visiting destinations such as the Hasankeyf cave dwellings, Diyarbakır with its magnificent walls and mosques, Urfa and Harran Adiyana and Nemrut Dağ, and smaller and less well-known communities along the way. I also am associated with a professor at the Mardin Artuklu University who is an expert in the field of ancient history, and is available to share his knowledge with Mardin visitor groups.
