In this role you will lead our marketing activities across all CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) markets, in partnership with colleagues in sales, marketing, communications and each product business units. You accountability begins and ends with total sell out margin and profitability (contribution) in these market, but how you get there, where you invest to drive the result, and how you build our brand is under your direct control.

Broadly you’ll be working through the following considerations:

Consumer Marketing. How do you get our product to the consumer through traditional advertising, digital media, editorial/content, PR (in partnership with Communications), consumer advocacy or any other channel, most efficiently and with the highest possible consumer impact? How do you grow Nokia sales by managing the brand and consumer through the whole funnel from Awareness and Consideration to Purchase.
Product Marketing. How do you plan, segment and divide up the market to inform product line strategy in our business units, and then how do you get developed products to market in terms of positioning, strategy, segmentation and customer commitment?
Customer Marketing. How do you work with our key distribution channels – operators and retails – to drive device promotion at point of sale and to get standout from the competition?
Insight, Planning and Analytics. How do you manage the acquisition cost of our business and optimize towards greater efficiency and improved distribution over time, particularly as salience grows and as we re-establish ourselves in the marketplace.What consumer trends, behaviors or other marketplace dynamics need to inform and influence our marketing strategy.

While you will want to measure important KPIs such as productivity, brand preference, NPS, consumer retention or retail recommendation rate, your primary and most important goals are driving absolute improvements in Gross Margin and Post Marketing Contribution (Margin net of marketing cost). Your job is not to manage a marketing budget; it’s to invest to drive ever increasing business growth and performance.

Success in this role looks like business margin and contribution growth, a reestablishment of the Nokia brand for a new generation, and a fired up and passionate high performing team. Are you the leader who can deliver this?

Qualifications

  • 15 + years of international marketing experience over a number of markets
  • Strong generalist marketing, sales or commercial background with demonstrated ability to drive results
  • In depth knowledge in terms of our products and our consumers & customers.
  • Financial acumen. Knowledge and understanding in interpreting numerical data.
  • A leader – ability to build teams, set vision, stand alone when times are difficult. Solver of problems. Builder of solutions.
  • Relationship Builder. Capacity to partner with, support and negotiate through often strong internal and external customer opinions
  • Strategic thinker. Inquisitive and data driven are words that people should use about you
