Global PFE Mission Statement:

Premier Field Engineering (PFE) provides technical leadership for Premier customers around the world to promote health in their IT environments through onsite, remote and dedicated support services. As part of Customer Service and Support (CSS), PFE partners with Commercial Technical Support and Enterprise Services to strengthen the Microsoft Services Field Engineering capability worldwide.

Role Purpose:

Premier Field Engineering (PFE) is part of Microsoft’s Services Organisation. PFE provide various services to our Enterprise customers to increase systems availability, resolve critical issues, and ultimately improve the health of our customers’ environments. We work with experienced technical staff to ensure they have the skills to troubleshoot and maintain their solution in line with Microsoft best practices. When things do go wrong we provide rapid on site expertise to resolve critical situations
Premier Field Engineering (PFE) delivers onsite and dedicated services for Microsoft’s Premier customers around the world.

PFE Delivers:

Onsite proactive and reactive services to our Premier and Premier Mission Critical (PMC) customers.
Short term engagements through Rapid Onsite Support and proactive engagements (technology workshops & health checks).
Long term engagements with Dedicated Support Engineering.
Services delivered by highly skilled engineers with deep technical expertise.

We need individuals that:

Possess deep technical expertise in at least one technical specialty and can solve complex technical problems through sound, creative troubleshooting. You will also need to be able to examine possible workarounds and escalations as required.
Communicate with Microsoft Mission Critical customers (verbal, written and face to face correspondence) regarding technically complex issues about Microsoft software products and manage relationships with those customers.
Set an example of excellence as a Microsoft representative, enhancing the company’s image and reputation through your credibility, preparation, commitment and first-class delivery.
Logical and methodical troubleshooting and problem solving both technically and on an interpersonal level.
Demonstrate strong communication skills; ability to develop strategic on-going customer relationships, gain trust and respect for the company. Engineers must also possess strong technical writing, presentation and training skills.
Communicate at various levels from CIO to the technical staff on the ground.
Working in a team environment to collaborate and/or lead efforts from resolving customer issues to helping define long term strategic goals.
Ability to use debugging skills and source code access to troubleshoot and isolate problems to a component level.
Collaborate with other technical teams (EE, SE, Dev. etc.) at Microsoft to deliver solutions to customer issues
Enjoy team work, and actively contribute to their peer group as well as our customer account teams
Ability to handle Critical Situations in technically challenging and politically hot circumstances.
Available to travel to a customer’s site and work remotely.

Experience:

Experience in the enterprise customer arena.
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
Face-to-face or remote customer engagement skills.
Troubleshooting knowledge & skills.
ERP implementation project experience.
Degree qualification or equivalent experience.
Good understanding of ITIL/Service Management and SureStep Methodology.
MCSE, MCSD, MCP’s qualification.

Technical Experience:

Dynamics AX Premier Field Engineers should be experienced in implementing, operating, tuning and troubleshooting Dynamics AX systems, ideally in multiple industries.

Strong knowledge of Dynamics AX 2012/2012 R2 and /or Dynamics AX 2009.
Advanced Development experience in .NET languages (C#).
Development experience preferred (X++).
Debugging skills (ability to troubleshoot issue using debugger).
Troubleshooting SQL Server skills & experience (Performance monitoring, SQL Profiler).
Advanced Performance Troubleshooting experience (DynamicsPerf, TraceParser).
Microsoft accreditation in SQL Server and/ or Windows preferred.

The following areas may also be beneficial:

Knowledge of SharePoint technology (setup and customization)
Knowledge of Visual Studio Web Performance and Load Testing.
Knowledge in Infrastructure Sizing of Dynamics AX environments
