Job Description

We are looking for a Regional Market Editor in Budapest to manage our content creation processes and the moving parts of our country-specific publications. Together with our field editors and head of production department, you will plan, co-ordinate, review and edit content gathered by The Oil & Gas Year’s field teams, which are deployed in emerging markets around the world. The successful candidate will be able to decide which ideas should be pursued and which should be dropped in order to meet quality and accuracy standards. The goal is to provide exceptional, informative and engaging content for our annual editions.

Responsibilities
• Edit, proofread and improve interview text, articles and other pieces to meet The Oil & Gas Year’s standards and editorial guidelines
• Select and shape material for The Oil & Gas Year’s country-specific books
• Liaise with a global team of colleagues to ensure effective and efficient workflow, giving input in a range of areas to improve processes and content
• Suggest stories and generate article ideas in alignment with The Oil & Gas Year’s field editors
• Review layout and check content for accuracy and errors
• Co-operate with field teams, the production and graphics departments to ensure that printing deadlines and quality requirements are met

Requirements

• Native English speaker based in Budapest, Hungary
• Proven working experience as an editor is an advantage (but not a must)
• Excellent writing/editing/proofreading skills
• Experience with MS Office and Google Docs
• An eye for detail along with critical thinking
• Ability to prioritise and multitask
• Results-driven, hard-working, self-motivated, ambitious, energetic, flexible
• Can meet demanding deadlines and keep a cool head under pressure
