Typical tasks required by the role include responsibility for the extraction and analysis of accounting data for tax purposes, preparation of tax calculations and returns, checking tax adjustments, checking payments and returns, and preparing tax reports for Vodafone operating company local tax teams based around the world. There are opportunities to specialise in direct or indirect taxes, and in particular countries as the tax team expands.

• Use direct/indirect tax knowledge to review and verify accuracy of tax accounting data in ERP systems
• Preparation of manual VAT adjustments in relation to data which has not been recorded in the ERP systems in line with VAT principles e.g ‘Place of Supply’ and ‘Use and Enjoyment’ calculations
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Preparation of Intrastat returns and EC Sales listings
• Posting of tax journals
• Preparation of Balance Sheet and direct/indirect Tax Payment Forecasts
• Manage the collection of tax exemption certificates, tax residency certificates and WHT forms from vendors and any required updates to vendor master data in the ERP system and manage reporting and payment of WHT
• Preparation of corporate tax calculations and returns
• Ensure SOX controls are adhered to
• Monitor timetable for tax return tasks and submissions
• Liaison with local operating tax teams

Requirements:

• University/College Degree in accountancy (specializing in TAX is a huge advantage)
• Fluent Spanish and English language knowledge is a must
• Basic tax knowledge (principles) and willingness to develop this to an expert level (2 years of experience in similar role would be advantageous)
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to work in a Workshadow in country for a specified period of time
• SAP knowledge is an advantage
• Flexible approach to work due to our changing and growing environment
