TECHNICAL WRITER – BUDAPEST – FULL TIME
QLytix, Inc. is looking for technical writers and information developers in Budapest, to produce and maintain customer documentation for hardware and software products, in various areas.

Responsibilities
Writing mainly technical descriptions (installation and user guides, design specifications, system manuals, online help) for various products, in different technical areas, mostly telecommunications centric
Editing technical content for clarity and consistency
Adhering to English style and client formatting specifications, using several documentation tools
Keeping in touch and managing contact with engineers, customer support staff, and other key professionals

Requirements
High level of English skills – both oral and written
University degree (Telecommunications, Engineering and/or English major preferred)
Technical qualifications or at least a strong technical orientation
Understanding of telecommunication concepts and standards is an advantage
Above average computer literacy
Knowledge of some documentation tools and/or markup language (XML, HTML, DITA, Oxygen, etc.) is an advantage, and DITA is preferred
Knowledge in graphic design and usability design is an advantage
Analytical and conceptual thinking
Preciseness and attention to detail
Must be organized and self-motivated with ability to work independently and in virtual teams
Highly energetic with a strong work ethic
Experience in a similar position is an advantage

Detailed Responsibilities
Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards of clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology, for various document types such as service, reference, user, and operating manuals, installation guides, functional and product descriptions.
Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers.
Review published materials and recommend changes in scope, format, content, and methods of publishing.
Interview production and engineering personnel and maintain a level of understanding of product technologies and production methods.
Analyze developments in specific field to determine need for revisions in previously published materials and development of new material.
